Last September, less than a week after he began kneeling for the national anthem to protest social injustice and police brutality in the U.S., Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall met with Denver police chief Robert White and vowed to return to the police academy to take White up on his offer to try its training simulator."It became pretty clear to me that his kneeling was to speak to the injustices that he feels are going across in our country," White said after his meeting with Marshall."But I also think he recognizes — and we talked about this — that most of the men and women in law enforcement, and certainly those in Denver, are out doing the right thing every single day.

DENVER -- Denver Broncos linebacker Brandon Marshall joined the Denver Police academy this week to experience first-hand some of the rapidly evolving, life-or-death situations officers go through every day.It was all part of his continued commitment to raise awareness of racial issues between police and the black community."Coming in here, I thought it was going to be kind of like a 'Call of Duty' thing," Marshall said on a Facebook video shared by Denver police on Wednesday.
